The Pretty Little Liars series follows the four leads: Spencer, Hanna, Emily, and Aria. Their best friend, Alison DiLaurentis, has recently gone missing. In years following her disappearance, the four girls have majorly drifted apart, but are reunited upon discovering that the authorities have found Alison's dead body. They attend the funeral, and afterward they simultaneously receive the same text message from a blocked number, a.k.a. -A. As the threatening texts continue, and the girls' lives become darker and more painful, will the Liars be able to stop -A  before -A stops them?

First of all, this is my favorite series on the face of planet Earth. Both the books as well as the television series. Yes, the series goes on for awhile (there are 18 books) and it can get over-dramatic at some points, but that's all part of the fun! Sara Shepard is a phenomenal writer and plot-twister (if that is even a thing, she is the definition of it!) and I 100% recommend giving the series a try.
